"9 to 5" Show Seeks Talent
Looking to cast singers and performers for "9 to 5" show. See the details below. Additional info: For auditions, please prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show and fittng for the character that you are auditioning for. A pianist will be available and singing with the piano is preferred, however, you can also use a track if needed, but no acapella singing, please. There will also be a dance portion so please dress and wear shoes accordingly. Auditions will also consist of cold readings from the script for particular characters. Please familiarize yourself with the musical prior to auditions as well as the movie in which it is based on. There will be a full cast meeting with those cast on Wednesday, December 20th at 7:00 pm at the Theatre and full rehearsals will begin on Monday, January 8th. Rehearsals will be Sunday afternoons (2 pm-6 pm) and Monday-Thursdays (7 pm-9:30 pm). If you are interested, please apply.

Lead. A smart, efficient, widowed mother who is constantly being passed up for promotion in the world of climbing the corporate ladder. She runs the office while her boss takes the credit. She is frustrated with her position, but not biter. Comedic role – witty and sharp and strong singer with the ability to hold harmonies. Dancing role. Played by Lily Tomlin in the movie. (Vocal Range - F3-D5)
Lead. A meek housewife making her first foray into the working world when her husband runs off with his secretary. Judy changes throughout the play into a force to be reckoned with, taking control of herself and her life. Comedic role. A strong belter voice is needed and the ability to hold harmonies. Dancing role. Played by Jane Fonda in the movie. (Vocal Range - A-flat 3 - F5, high belt to D-sharp).
Lead. A sexy, country gal who is the secretary for the boss, Franklin Hart. She is misunderstood at the beginning of the play due to rumors about an affair with the boss but comes to be a strong cog in the machine that destroys Hart. She is an eternal optimist, warm and personable, with a ready smile. Country singing with a strong belt and the ability to hold harmonies. Dancing role. Played by Dolly Parton in the movie. (Vocal Range - E5-G3, country singing - High Belt).
Lead. A pompous jerk of a boss. If he weren’t the boss, he would have no friends at all. Spends his time trying to seduce Doralee. Smarmy. Sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical, bigot. Strong singing voice needed and the ability to be unlikeable while also being funny, he is not an angry character or evil. Dancing role. (Vocal Range - C3-G-flat 4).
Lead. The attentive office gossip queen and snitch. She has an unrequited love for Mr. Hart and does everything she can to undermine the rest of the office to earn his affection. Although she has depth, a lonely woman who seeks solace in her work and Hart. An over-the-top comedic role and a strong singing voice are needed. A super fun part for someone who wants to “steal” the show. Dancing role. (Vocal Range - G3-C5)
Supporting. A handsome, young office accountant. Genuine and nice, and smitten with Violet. Smooth and soft singing voice. Dancing role. (Vocal Range - B2-G4)

Ensemble - Featured. Chairman of the Board of the company. An adventurer, still virile. Hart's boss who may be wiser to Hart's ways than he lets on. Doubles in the Men’s Ensemble but should have some stature and age. Good comedy actor with good movement and singing skills. (Baritone)
