"Ragtime" the musical needs cast. Please see the details below. About the project: This musical tapestry depicts an African-American family, a Jewish immigrant family, and a wealthy white suburban family in turn-of-the-century America, who collide in pursuit of the American Dream. Nominated for 13 Tony Awards including “Best Musical,” and winning for “Best Original Score” and “Best Book of a Musical,” Ragtime is a powerful portrait of life during the turn of the century, exploring America’s timeless contradictions of freedom and prejudice, wealth, and poverty, hope and despair. Additional info: What to prepare: please prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show that displays your vocal range. An accompanist will be provided or you can bring your own tracks. Please bring appropriate dancewear as some actors may be put through a basic dance audition. Actors may also be asked to read from the script. Possible callbacks: January 31 at 7 pm. Production Dates: April 5 – 21, 2024. Playhouse encourages people of all races, abilities, and genders to audition for the roles they most identify with. If you are interested, please apply.
