About the project: SYNOPSIS: James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant modern classic. The Tony Award winning book and score are as enchanting as they are touching. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. Rate: Unpaid. Additional info: Bring clearly marked sheet music for 16 bars of a song of your choice in the style of the show. Singing from the show is fine. Male-identifying, excellent actor and confident singer (G2-E4). Narrator: An intellectual and pleasant story-teller who helps to orchestrate the show and illustrate lessons to the audience. Mysterious Man: A mischievous vagrant and nosy meddler. He is a good-natured protector and observer who is full of riddles and an important secret.
Female-identifying, excellent actor and singer (G3-G5). A young, earnest maiden who is constantly mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters. Innately kind and good, Cinderella find herself uncertain about how to proceed once her wishes are fulfilled.
Male-identifying, excellent actor and singer (B2-G4). An adventurous, naive, energetic, foolhardy, occasionally dense, and bright-eyed young boy. Desperate for a better life, Jack sells his beloved cow Milky White for magic beans which lead him on a journey of growing up and learning to accept the consequences of his actions.

She is very low maintenance, yet proactive and persistent in her endeavors to have a child. Her assertiveness and stubbornness eventually help bring about a change in her relationship with her husband.

Female-identifying. Excellent actress and thrilling singer (F3-G5). Straightforward, sarcastic, aggressive, and frequently misunderstood, the Witch proves to be just as human as the other characters, despite being initially portrayed as the villain. She cares deeply for Rapunzel.
Female-identifying. Strong actress and singer (E4-F4). Cinderella’s Mother: Deceased, her soul guides and aides her daughter from a tree. Granny: Feisty and vindictive towards the Wolf. Giant: Angry and vengeful, she is seeking restitution for her loss.
Male-identifying, excellent actor and singer. Wolf: Hungry and insatiable hunter who takes advantage of the weak by misleading and captivating his prey. Cinderella’s Prince: A vain, disloyal lover who is never satisfied and is always searching for his next thrill.

Male-identifying, excellent actor and singer. Just as vain and pompous as his brother, Cinderella’s Prince, he is second-in-line, has a chip on his shoulder, and is always searching for the next best thing. He tries his best to help when Rapunzel starts to lose her grip on reality.
