About the project: Million Dollar Quartet is set on December 4, 1956, when an extraordinary twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley together at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be one of the greatest jam sessions ever. Million Dollar Quartet brings that legendary December night to life with an irresistible tale of broken promises, secrets, betrayal, and celebrations that are both poignant and funny. Relive the era with the smash-hit sensation featuring an incredible score of rock 'n' roll, gospel, R&B, and country hits, performed live onstage. Showcased hit songs include "Blue Suede Shoes," "Fever," "Walk the Line," "Sixteen Tons," "Who Do You Love?," "Great Balls of Fire," "Folsom Prison Blues," "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," "Hound Dog," and more. Rate: Rehearsals - $800 Flat rate (Leads, Supporting, Featured); $700 Flat rate (External Understudies). Show(s) - $70 Per show performed (Leads, Supporting, Featured). Travel stipend applications available. Additional info: Seeking fully vaccinated adult non-Equity musicians/ actors/ singers/ dancers. Also interested in hiring the music director as a member of the cast. All identities, races, and ethnicities are strongly encouraged to audition. Production Dates: Please note that directors are asking about your conflicts for a wider range of availability than may actually be used for rehearsals. Rehearsals - Tue 6/4-Sun 6/30/24: Weekly rehearsals will be chosen from the following times: 6-10pm or 6:30-10:30pm Tuesdays-Thursdays and 10am-6pm Saturdays & Sundays. Mondays & Fridays will be the designated days off each week. There will be one Understudy rehearsal on Tuesday 7/16, 6-11pm. Tech Rehearsals - Tue 7/2-Thu 7/11/24. Schedule is as follows: Tue 7/2-Wed 7/3, 5-11pm; Fri 7/5-Sat 7/6, 5pm-12am; Sun 7/7, 12-5pm; Mon 7/8-Wed 7/10, 6-11pm; TBA Thu 7/11, 4-6pm. No rehearsal on Thu 7/4. Previews & Performances - Thu 7/11-Sun 8/4/24. Standard matinee schedule includes 7:30pm shows on Thu, Fri, & Sat; 3pm matinees on Sat & Sun; 2pm matinee on Thu 7/25; no 3pm matinees on Sat 7/27 & Sat 8/3. If you are interested, please apply.

(Male-Identifying) singer/pianist. Jerry Lee Lewis was rock & roll's legendary piano prodigy and celebrated "Last Man Standing." Fun, energetic. In the production, Jerry Lee Lewis sings: "Real Wild Child," "Great Balls Of Fire," and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On." Actors with comedic skills who are superb piano players and able to play like Jerry Lee Lewis are encouraged to submit.

Carl PerkinsBoth genders25-39 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male-Identifying) singer/guitar player (lead guitar). Carl Perkins was the American pioneer of rockabilly music and best known for his song "Blue Suede Shoes." In the production, Carl Perkins sings "Matchbox," "Who Do You Love?," "My Babe," and "See You Later, Alligator." Actors who are excellent lead guitarists are encouraged to submit.

Johnny CashBoth genders26-49 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male-Identifying) singer/guitar player. This is Johnny Cash at the dawn of his epic career. Tall. In the production, Johnny Cash sings "Folsom Prison Blues," "Sixteen Tons," "I Walk The Line," and "Riders In The Sky." Must be familiar with his music. Actors should sound and look somewhat like Johnny without being an "impersonator."

DyanneBoth genders20-44 y.o.All ethnicities

(female-Identifying). Excellent singer. Dyanne was an aspiring singer and Elvis's girlfriend. Ahead of her time and assertive, she's a great singer with a wide range. Dyanne sings solos and back-up throughout the show, sings "Fever" in her alto range, and covers the high soprano part of "Riders In The Sky" (Johnny Cash song). Dyanne also sings "I Hear You Knockin'."

Jay PerkinsBoth genders20-49 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male-Identifying) Jay is Carl Perkins' brother & bassist, who has accompanied him to Sun Records to record Carl's new album. He is loyal to Carl but also not interested (or willing) to get caught up in the politics of the record business. He remains almost entirely silent in conversation, but performs as part of the ensemble numbers, and plays bass on all the musicians' songs. He is an extremely skilled bass player and performer, able to play at strange angles with other musicians leaning on.

W. S. "Fluke" HollandBoth genders20-49 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male-Identifying) mid 20s; onstage drummer. Fluke is Carl Perkins' drummer, who has accompanied him to Sun Records to record Carl's new album. He is loyal to Carl but also not interested (or willing) to get caught up in the politics of the record business. He remains silent in conversation, but performs as part of the ensemble numbers, and plays drums on all the musicians' songs.
