"Love and Barbed Wire" Musical Needs Performers

About the project: Quick synopsis: Love and Barbed Wire revolves around a couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in their home in the early 1960’s. As per their own tradition, they reminisce, confront and ultimately celebrate their time together by reading aloud a selection of their letters to one another from when they were newlyweds and then separated by World War One. Love and Barbed Wire honours the dedication and sacrifices made by so many during this time, and the capacity for change and gratitude within us all. Rate: This production is non-union, unpaid. Additional information: Deadline for submissions is October 7th. Callbacks will be on October 12th (TBD). Lead. Baritone. He is a Corporal in the British Infantry. He is a high achiever and is hard on himself and others. He has just gotten married to Lillian.
Lead. Old man with mobility issues. (Baritone) He is much gentler with himself and others than his younger self. He has adapted to his life as a veteran and supports his wife's efforts as a war veteran advocate.
Lead. Old woman (Alto). She has a teasing nature but knows when to be assertive. She supported her husband as he struggled with a disability returning from World War One. As a result, she became a British government liaison travelling the world to advocate for war veterans and their families.
Lead. Young adult woman (Alto). She is on the home front, grieving the loss of her father and caring for her mother. She has just gotten married to Tom. She is a kind soul devoted to those around her and is beginning to take an interest in social issues.
