About the project: On a small Greek island, Sophie dreams of a perfect wedding one which includes her father giving her away. The problem? Sophie doesn’t know who he is! Her mother Donna, the former lead singer of the 1970s pop group Donna and the Dynamos, refuses to talk about the past, so Sophie decides to take matters into her own hands. Sneaking a peek in her mother’s old diaries, she discovers three possible fathers: Sam, Bill, and Harry. She secretly invites all three to the wedding, convinced that she’ll know her father when she sees him. But when all three turn up, it may not be as clear as she thought! Told through the legendary music of ABBA, Mamma Mia! has become a worldwide sensation that has audiences everywhere dancing. This blockbuster musical contains all of the band's most famous hits, including 'Super Trouper', 'Lay All Your Love On Me', 'Dancing Queen', 'Waterloo', plus less well-known but equally touching songs such as 'Slipping Through My Fingers' and 'Our Last Summer'. Additional information: Location: Mississauga, ON. Rehearsal Details and Show Dates: Rehearsals will begin Wednesday, January 8th, 2024 and run to Thursday, April 18th, 2024. Rehearsals will be held in Mississauga. Typically, rehearsals will be Monday and Thursday from 7-10pm and Saturday from 1:00pm – 5:00pm. Everyone will be required to assist with the move into the theatre on Saturday, April 20th, 2024. Assistance may also be required on Sunday, April 16th. Tech Week rehearsals Monday April 22nd to Thursday April 25th will be 6-11pm. The production runs from April 26th, 2024 to May 5th, 2024. There are evening shows at 8 pm on Friday April 26th, Saturday April 27th, Thursday May 2nd, Friday May 3rd and Saturday May 4th. Matinee performances will take place at 2pm on Sunday April 28th, Saturday May 4th 9th and Sunday May 5th. There may be an additional matinee performance on Saturday, April 27th. The call time for arrival at the theatre for each performance is generally 1.5 hours in advance of performance time. For more details regarding this opportunity, please see the attachment.
