About the project: "James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together in a timeless, yet relevant, Tony Award-winning musical. Equally funny and enchanting, this touching fairy tale, with a twist, follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. As their individual adventures begin to overlap and their wishes are granted, the characters learn to be careful what they wish for and what really happens after happily ever after." Rate: Unpaid. Additional info: Callbacks, by invitation only, will be held on Saturday, October 14 (12pm-5pm). Performance dates: January 19-21, 2024. 4 total performances. (40+, Baritone) - a storyteller who directly addresses the audience, leading them through the various tales. Charming, articulate, and expressive. Doubles as the Mysterious Man, a spirit.
(30+, Mezzo-Soprano) - a self-serving woman scarred by the evils of the world, she often takes out her past trauma on others. A dedicated, if often misled, mother to Rapunzel. Ultimately drives the moral of the story; must be an excellent actor and singer with a strong belt.
(Baritone) - a bumbling, mundane man who believes he must be the hero at all times, even when he has no right to be. Comfortable with where he is in life. Determined, sincere, and aloof.
(Mezzo-Soprano) - a clever, resourceful woman who is looking for more out of life. The heartbeat of the show. Must be an excellent actor and singer.
(Soprano) - a earnest, grounded woman who first dreams of a royal life, which she ultimately obtains, but is then unsure she wants. A headstrong survivor with a golden heart.
(Mezzo-Soprano) - wide-eyed and brash, she follows her impulses, wherever they go. After a harrowing incident with a wolf, she begins to understand the dangers of life.
(Tenor) - a naive boy who seeks adventure without thinking of the consequences. Spritely, juvenile, and humorous.
(Baritone) - a charming, but fatuous man who is used to getting whatever he wants due to his royal status. Doubles as the Wolf, a predator.
(Baritone) - a endearing, but daft man who is used to getting whatever he wants due to his royal status. Doubles as Milky White, a cow.
(40+, Soprano) - a brash, hard-working woman beaten down by life’s conditions. Devoted to Jack, despite his tendencies. Loyal, grounded, and tired.
(40+, Mezzo-Soprano) - a pompous, wicked, materialistic woman. She only cares for the finer things in life, and will stop at nothing to achieve them.
(Soprano) - a sheltered, but brave woman who longs for life outside of her tower, despite the Witch’s wishes. Doubles as Cinderella’s Mother, a spirit.
(Mezzo-Soprano) - vapid, vain, and vile. She is deeply selfish and constantly at odds with those around her. Doubles as Granny, a warrior.
