"All Shook Up" Musical Needs Performers
Seeking cast for "All Shook Up" show. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the details below. About the project: Inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley. Open auditions for strong singers/dancers/actors. Rate: All actors receive a $500 rehearsal stipend and a per-show rate between $55 and $65 depending on the role. There are currently 17 performances scheduled. Swings are paid a $500 rehearsal stipend and $100 retainer per week of performance to be on call. They are paid an additional per-show rate for any performances they cover. Understudies are paid an additional rehearsal stipend to learn additional tracks. Additional info: Performers of all ethnic, racial, sexual, and gender identities and backgrounds are encouraged, needed, and welcome. There is potential for 15-20 roles available for adults 18 years of age or older. There are also Swing (external) and Understudy (Internal) positions available. No AEA/Equity contracts are available for this production. Talent must be local to the Denver Metro area. No housing or travel reimbursement is available. No conflicts will be accepted once a role is offered and contract signed. Conflicts may be accepted at the time of auditions but will influence casting decisions. REQUIREMENTS: 32-bars of an Elvis song. This does not need to be an impersonation – bring your interpretation of an Elvis song. Bring sheet music in the appropriate key. Accompanist will be provided. Short monologue (under 1-minute). Current headshot and resume. Invited callbacks will be held Sunday July 9 from 4:00pm – 10:00pm. Rehearsals: Rehearsals will begin in August and will generally be Sunday through Thursday evenings. Tech rehearsals begin September 16th. If interested, please apply.

(Lead) Vocal Range: Alto (G3-D5) A young woman and an excellent mechanic. She’s much more at home in greasy overalls than a dress. As in Shakespeare’s 12th Night, she goes in disguise as “Ed”, a motorcycle riding roustabout, to befriend and get close to Chad.
(Lead) Vocal Range: Bari-Tenor (A3-A4) A great-lookin’ motorcyclin’, guitar-playin’, leather-jacketed roustabout. Directors would love to cast this role with an actor who plays guitar but is not a requirement.
(Supporting) Age Range: 40+ Vocal Range: Baritone (E4-A#3) Natalie’s widowed Father – also a mechanic who taught his daughter everything he knows. Although he misses his deceased wife, he has a crush but is too shy to pursue her.
(Supporting) Age Range: Late 30s+ Vocal Range: Mezzo/Alto/Belt (F3-G5) The no-nonsense owner of the local honky-tonk. Aware that she is from “the wrong side of the tracks” but doesn’t care.
(Supporting) To portray age range: Late teens Vocal Range: Alto/Belt (C4-D5) Daughter of Sylvia and friend of Natalie. Helps her mother run the honky-tonk and is also looking for love.
(Supporting) To portray age range Late teens Vocal Range: Tenor (A3-G#4) A young man who is in love with Natalie, but has been put squarely in the friend-zone.
(Supporting) Age Range: 20s+ Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano/Also (A3-E5) The beautiful, intellectual caretaker of the town’s museum. Also looking for love but wants a man of substance.
(Supporting) Age Range: 40s+ Vocal Range: Alto/Belt Very conservative and wants to keep the devil out of her town. Shipping her son, Dean, off to military school to keep him in line.
(Supporting) Age Range: 40s+ Vocal Range: Baritone Mayor Matilda’s right hand man and muscle – enforces the conservative laws of the town.
(Supporting) To portray teens Vocal Range: Tenor (F3-A#4) The son of Mayor Matilda. Being sent off to military school because he is crazy in love with Lorraine.
