Casting Call for "Little Women" Musical
Auditions for "Little Women" musical. In need of cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See more info below. Additional info: Callbacks: August 12th from 6:00-8:00 PM. Rehearsal Dates: October 8th- November 11th (specific rehearsal days/times will be communicated ASAP, expect weekdays 6-9 and potentially some weekends). Lead role. Our story’s protagonist. Passionate, adventurous, and brave. She has the idea of writing Little Women and eventually becomes engaged to Professor Bhaer. Female identifying. Vocal range top: A5 Vocal range bottom: E3 Please Note: Jo is a heavy singing role. Vocal health of the performer will be a priority of the production team. The ability to tell a compelling story through song is a must. This character is written to have intimacy moments (kissing, hugging).
Supporting role. German Professor who exemplifies proper manners. He is a boarder in Mrs. Kirk’s boarding house and eventually falls in love with Jo. Male identifying. Vocal range top: F#4 Vocal range bottom: G2 Please Note: A German accent is desired for this role. This character is written to have intimacy moments (kissing, hugging), please indicate your comfort with this to the production team.
Lead role. The youngest, most energetic sister with a rather pompous air about her. She later marries Laurie. Female identifying. Age: to play 14 to 18 Vocal range top: Gb5 Vocal range bottom: -1 Please Note: The production team is considering split casting Amy (younger Amy & older Amy) depending on the actors that are interested in this role. Directors will communicate their intent with callback invitations.
Lead role. The world-weary, yet hopeful, oldest sister who yearns for a great life. She marries John and has twins with him. Female identifying. Vocal range top: Gb5 Vocal range bottom: A#3 Please Note: This character is written to have intimacy moments (kissing, hugging), please indicate your comfort with this to the production team.
Lead role. The second youngest sister who tragically dies of Scarlet Fever. Peace-maker, lover, and an optimist who is always encouraging her sisters to dream. Female identifying. Vocal range top: G5 Vocal range bottom: A3 Please Note: Piano playing ability is desired but not a requirement for this role.
Supporting role. The girls’ mother. She is the strong backbone of the family, who is courageous in spite of the difficult odds she faces. Female identifying. Vocal range top: Eb5 Vocal range bottom: Eb3
Featured role. Laurie’s stern but kind Grandfather. Becomes close with Beth. Male identifying. Vocal Range- Baritone.
Supporting role. The bright-eyed boy-next-door with considerable charm. He loves Jo but later falls in love with Amy. Male Identifying. Vocal range top: Bb4 Vocal range bottom: Bb2 Please Note: Dance or movement experience is a plus.
Featured role. A formidable, over-bearing matron and great-aunt to the March sisters. The wealthy socialite in town. May also double as roles in the ensemble. Female Identifying. Vocal range top: F5 Vocal range bottom: E3 Please Note: Age makeup may be required depending on the actor who is cast.
Supporting role. Laurie’s tutor and a rather stiff man; shows very little emotion. He later marries Meg and changes. Male identifying. Vocal range top: F#4 Vocal range bottom: C#3 Please Note: This character is written to have intimacy moments (kissing, hugging), please indicate your comfort with this to the production team.
