Actors/Actresses Required for "Avenue Q" Show

Looking to cast male and female performers and singers for the "Avenue Q" theatre show. See the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Winner of the Tony Triple Crown for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book, the hilarious Avenue Q tells the timeless story of a recent college graduate trying to find his way in the world. Set in New York City all the way out on Avenue Q (he couldn’t afford anything better), we are introduced to fresh-faced Princeton as he struggles to find his purpose: meeting friends, finding love, losing love, and finding it again, along the way. Inspired by the beloved children’s show Sesame Street, Avenue Q creates a puppet-filled world that is a little more reflective of the difficult, R-rated realities that we face when we learn that real life isn’t as simple as we dreamed it might be – but perhaps, suggests Avenue Q, life is all the more colorful and worthwhile for it. Cast List will go up JULY 1st. -SHOW DATES Fridays, October 13, 20 & 27, 8:00 p.m. Saturdays, October 14, 21 & 28, 8:00 p.m. Sundays, October 22 & 29, 2:00 p.m. -AUDITION INFORMATION Vocal Auditions Please prepare up to 32 bars of any musical theatre song. An accompanist will be provided. The musical director prefers no a cappella auditions. Cold Readings Auditionees will sing first then read sides selected by the Director. These sides will be provided the day of your audition. If you are trying out for a puppet character there will be rehearsal puppets to pick from to use to read your sides with. -REHEARSAL INFORMATION July 8th at 1pm they will have the first readthrough. July's focus will be on Singing. They will work with Vacation Schedules and Summer Shows ending that month. They are starting early just to give our actors extra time to work with the puppets Starting August they will be Rehearsing Monday, Wednesday, Thursdays at 7:30pm and Saturdays at 1pm. August Focus will be Blocking and September working with the real puppets that come that month and putting it all together. Not everyone will be called all four days. -Despite featuring puppets, Avenue Q is R-rated, featuring adult topics, offensive language, and an onstage portrayal of puppet sex. An experienced Fight and Intimacy choreographer has been brought on to the production. Every choreographed moment will be discussed thoroughly, as to how it reflects the show’s core themes. They welcome and encourage discussion of your individual boundaries ahead of casting, as well as throughout the production process. If interested, please apply.
