About the project: HEATHERS THE MUSICAL: Teen Edition is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. But before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously handsome new kid, JD. When Heather Chandler, The Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather’s aerobicized butt... but JD has another plan for that bullet. Brought to you by the award-winning creative team of Kevin Murphy (Reefer Madness, Desperate Housewives) and Laurence O’Keefe (Bat Boy, Legally Blonde), HEATHERS THE MUSICAL: Teen Edition is a hilarious, heartfelt, and homicidal new show based on the greatest (and darkest) teen comedy of all time. Additional info: -What to Prepare: Please be prepared to perform a 1-minute monologue from modern/contemporary theater and sing 32 bars from one of the show’s songs. After signing up, auditioners will be given a YouTube link from the show with a cut marked (e.g., your cut is from 3:45-4:15 with a 4-beat count in), and also given access to sheet music. -Callbacks: You may be asked to perform a simple dance combination. Please dress to move and bring shoes you can confidently move in. -Callbacks: Saturday, April 8 (1-4 pm) -Performances: July 14 – July 30, 2023 -Rehearsals Begin: April 30, 2023 -Rehearsals are Sunday-Thursday evenings -Please bring a list of schedule conflicts to your audition. -The company encourages color-conscious casting and strives to be an inclusive theater.
