About the project: "How I Became a Pirate" Braid Beard and his mates enlist young Jeremy Jacob as they look for the perfect spot to bury their treasure. Jeremy finds that adventuring can be lots of fun, but also learns that love and home are treasures you can’t find on any map! (Based on the beloved Children’s Storybook) Production Dates: June 2, 3, 4 & 9, 10, 11 Requirements: Actors will need to sing but there are no specific vocal requirements. "MATILDA THE MUSICAL" Matilda is the story of an extraordinary little girl with extraordinary powers. The daughter of abusive parents, Matilda finds refuge in library books, which she reads quickly and in creating her own stories. Things are no better at school, where Matilda also must face a tyrannical and cruel headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. She finds companionship in her teacher, Miss Honey, though well-intentioned, is shy and fragile. Brave little Matilda knows she has to stand up against the adults in her world, and in doing so, discovers her own remarkable powers. Production Dates: July 14, 15, 16 & 21, 22, 23 Additional info: Prepare and sing 16-32 bars of any song. Have sheet music clearly marked for the accompanist.
