Casting call for musical "The Wedding Singer". Looking for performers. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: "It’s 1985, and rockstar wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer. He’s the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and, unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever." Additional info: AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Please bring piano sheet music and prepare a short song in the style of the show or your favorite 80s tune! An accompanist will be provided. You may also be asked to read from the script and/or learn a short dance combination to demonstrate movement ability. Please bring comfortable clothes and dance shoes/sneakers. *For the roles of Robbie, Sammy, and George, proficiency in these instruments is a plus but not an absolute requirement for casting. Callbacks will be held Monday, February 13, 8:00 – 9:30 p.m. Rehearsals will begin on or around March 1, 2023. Performances April 20-23, 27-29, 2023.

(Vocal range B2 to C5, plays the guitar*) The lead singer of a band. Cute, quirky, and charismatic. A truly ‘nice’ guy that has the classic lead singer aura and personality. Also a bit of a dreamer. In love with love until Linda leaves him at the altar and breaks his heart.
(Vocal range G3 to F5) A waitress. The pretty “girl next door” in looks and personality. Engaged to Glen but falls in love with Robbie and is conflicted as to who to choose. Empathetic, caring, and brave.
(Vocal range A3 to E5) Julia’s cousin, a waitress. Sassy, edgy, and always up for a good time, but wants to be loved and is looking for romantic fulfillment in all the wrong places. She is in denial about her feelings for Sammy.
(Vocal range C3 to A4, plays the bass*) The bass player in the wedding band and one of Robbie’s best friends. A total guy’s guy and wannabe bachelor, yet is still in love with Holly.
(Vocal range C3 to A4, plays keyboard, tambourine, and more!*) The wedding band’s keyboardist and one of Robbie’s best friends. He is sensitive and somewhat flamboyant. The foil to Sammy’s macho attitude.
(Vocal range D3 to B4) Julia’s fiance. A Wall Street broker. He is rich, shallow, and materialistic. Good looking and he knows it. Constantly tries to buy Julia’s love with money. He is a bit of a womanizer.
(Vocal range C4 to C5) Robbie’s rap-loving, jazzercizing grandmother who raised him. Motherly but adventurous and always trying to remain “hip” despite her age.
(Vocal range A3 to D5) Robbie’s trashy, rocker-chick fiancee who leaves him at the altar. Keeps Robbie around as a backup plan, but more in love with the idea of Robbie being a rock star than she actually is with Robbie.
