ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ADMITTED. Non-Union Indie Short Film "A Man Named DEATH" is searching for actors. More details are below. About the project: Film Synopsis: After a millennia of taking souls, Death decides to throw in the towel and finally get one of those "lives" humans are always talking about. Before he can do that, he has one problem he has to deal with first - a suicidal teenage girl named Ashley, hell-bent on taking her own life. This leads to a game of ideological chicken as the two of them stand on opposing sides of the question "who controls your life... and death?" Rate: $150/day, meals on set, copy of completed film and comps to the premiere. Additional information: Filming Dates: Late April 2023 (5-6 Days). Submission Deadline: February 5th, 2023. Callbacks: In Person - Tentative February 25th, 2023. For both Ashley and Michael please record yourself performing any monologue of your choosing-ideally performing that monologue in a way that represents your personal interpretation of the character based on the description. Lead. We meet Ashley at the end of her life. Hardened after a troubled childhood and suffering from severe depression, she decides to put an end to it all and take her own life. Things are going as planned until Death arrives, and with his new view on life, refuses to take her soul. Ashley is a surely and dark individual with a sarcastic attitude, that clashes with Death's new "positive" outlook on life. (Estimated 5-6 shoot days).
Supporting. Michael, as depicted in the film, is a charming, handsome and no-nonsense type of character. He is God’s right hand man. A seasoned General. And he takes his job very seriously. Michael is sent to Earth to reprimand Death and persuade him to get back in line and fulfil his duties. (Estimated 1 shoot day).
