Rate: AEA Showcase Code: $600 Stipend. Additional info: Callbacks: in person 3/6-3/10. Each show runs for 10 performances and allows audiences to become reacquainted with lesser-known works while introducing them to new talent in the area. Rehearsal schedules for all shows will be afternoon/evening rehearsals that are flexible and will allow for performers to maintain regular day or evening job schedules. "WOMAN OF THE YEAR" (1st NYC Revival) Rehearsals: March 20th-April 12th (5 pm-10 pm Weeknights/11 am- 6 pm Weekends). *Full Cast will not be called to all rehearsals. Schedule subject to change. Performances: 4/13/23 – 4/23/23 Thur/Fri/Sat- evenings at 7:30 & Sat/Sun at 2:00 pm "SUGAR" (1st NYC Revival). (She/Her, They/Them). America’s most successful television journalist that is the epitome of class, elegance, intelligence, and wit. She can go toe to toe with the most caustic world leaders with shrewd charm. Think Oprah’s ease with Barbara Walters’ reporting. Must sing well. "WOMAN OF THE YEAR"
(She/Her, They/Them)- Tess’ German maid whose life revolves around Tess’ happiness and comfort. She is Tess’ biggest guardian but is not afraid to be sassy. Will speak/sing with a German dialect. "WOMAN OF THE YEAR"
(She/Her, They/Them) A plain, suburban housewife who has lost all the fire and energy in her life. Great comic timing a must. Will play various roles throughout the show. Must sing well. "WOMAN OF THE YEAR"
(He/Him, They/Them) A successful cartoonist who engages in a battle of wit, and love, with Tess. Has to be able to match her volley for volley. Rugged, sexy, great sense of humor, and comfort in his own skin. Not afraid to show his vulnerability. Must sing well. "WOMAN OF THE YEAR"
(He/Him/They/Them) Tess’ executive assistant who controls every second of her schedule. He is calm, cool, officious, superior, with a biting wit, and a glance that could wilt a forest. Must sing well. "WOMAN OF THE YEAR"
(He/Him, They/Them) A Russian ballet star who wishes gregarious joy and love on everyone he meets. Life affirming, joyous, fantastic ballet dancer. Will speak/sing with a Russian dialect. Strong Ballet dancer. "WOMAN OF THE YEAR"

His confidence makes him engaging not repulsive. Great comic timing, great with voices, and a person whose goodness is always evident despite their methods to get what they want. (He/Him/They/Them) An unemployed, nervous, anxiety ridden bass player who through the course of the show discovers their identity as a woman. Great physical comedian, great comic timing, sweet, kind, and endlessly engaging. Bass playing is a bonus but not mandatory. Strong Singer. "SUGAR"
(She/Her/They/Them) The lead singer of the all-female identifying band. A wide-eyed innocent who falls in love too easily. Naive, vulnerable, keeps her head in the clouds and sees life through the idea that the world if full of beautiful things. Strong Singer. "SUGAR"
(She/Her/They/Them)- The conductor of the all-female identifying band. She has seen it all, done it all, drank it all, ate it all, and gambled it all. A larger-than-life personality who radiates joy onstage but someone you don’t want to mess with offstage. Piano a plus, but not mandatory. Strong Singer. "SUGAR"
(He/Him/They/Them)- A millionaire who falls in love too easily. He is a sweet, innocent, kind, wide-eyed, mama’s boy who falls madly in love with Daphne. Not a mean bone in his body he radiates joy, love, and enthusiasm for life. Must sing well. "SUGAR"
(He/Him/They/Them)- The toughest gangster in Chicago. Intimidating, terrifying, whose sheer energy makes people quack in their boots. An excellent tapper. "SUGAR"
