Auditions for musical "Once On This Island". Seeking cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: Set in the French Antilles, this classic retelling of The Little Mermaid is given a beautiful score and story about the enduring power of love. After a powerful storm, Julien and Euralie discover a small girl stranded in a tree. They adopt her and name her Ti Moune. The gods take notice of her and decide to see what is more powerful – love or death – and send her on a journey. Along the way, Ti Moune is counseled by the Goddess of the Earth and the God of Rain and discovers the big city with its prejudices and strict social class system. In the end, she gives her life to tear down the walls that keep true love apart. Additional info: All auditionees are asked to prepare no more than 32 bars of their best musical/standard music selection. Please bring your sheet music in the correct key for the accompanist. There will be a short movement audition at the end of each session, please bring appropriate clothing and shoes to move/dance. If you are interested, please apply.
