About the project: Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as "The Bard." When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz. Rate: This is a volunteer company, and no pay is offered to performers in this production. Additional info: Cast includes 10 roles plus an ensemble. All races, ethnic backgrounds, and genders are encouraged to audition. All roles open, Non AEA. Callback are by invitation only on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 ALL conflicts from October 15th through January 29th MUST BE NOTED. Rehearsal dates: Rehearsals will begin (approximately, depending on cast conflicts) on October 15 and are generally Saturdays at 10:00am-3:00pm, Sundays at 6:00pm - 9:00pm, and Monday through Thursday nights at 7:30pm -10:30. You will not be called to all rehearsals. Performance Dates and Times: Saturday, January 14 - Sunday, January 29, 2023 Saturdays: 8pm, Saturday & Sunday Matinees: 2 pm Totaling 7 performances. COVID Compliance: All cast & crew members must be vaccinated. They will be following Alameda County’s COVID guidelines. When applying, please include the audition form (see attachment), your headshot, and resume with your video audition. Please record yourself singing 16 to 32 bars with accompaniment, No a cappella.
