Looking to cast performers for the "Polar Express Train Ride" Show. Please see the details below. Rate: All actors are paid by the hour for performances and rehearsals bi-weekly. Additional info: Those auditioning should bring a current resume and headshot. Those auditioning for the vocal trio should bring an upbeat traditional Christmas song with sheet music. All actors must be comfortable with audience interaction. Good improvisational skills are a bonus. Rehearsal Times: The exact rehearsal hours will be specific to your character. Sunday, October 23 – Thursday, October 27 Sunday, October 30 Tuesday, November 1 Wednesday, November 2 Sunday, November 6 – Thursday, November 10 *Rehearsal conflicts are allowed if given one week’s notice. Charming, outgoing, and personable. The Conductor is a seemingly all-knowing character who uses his magic to spread excitement about the Christmas season. He acts as a father figure and counter voice of the Hobo. Some dancing required.
Magical, outgoing, and ghostly character. The Hobo adds mystery and intrigue while acting as the voice of reason and doubt.
Wise and magical. Santa spreads the Christmas spirit and is the center of the story. He must be calm, patient, and contemplative. A real beard that is or can be dyed white is preferred.
Stewards are responsible for helping to passengers board the train, help tell the story of The Polar Express, lead a Sing-along, and dance the Hot Chocolate routine and serve the famous hot chocolate and cookies. Stewards must be responsible, helpful, cheerful, and good interacting with guests. Non-singing role, but moderate dancing is required. Stewards are the backbone of the train ride.
This Trio, dressed in 1950’s style swing dresses, will entertain guests with upbeat traditional Christmas songs in the depot and in the North Pole.
