Holly Garland

A3-A5 Strong Singer/Mover. This sweet songbird is one half of Santa’s Favorite singing sister duo The Garland Sisters. Along with her sister Holly and the Tent Conductor, she entertains passengers during the Polar Express Cabaret before Hot Chocolate Service.

Ivy Garland

Strong Actor/Strong Mover. This enthusiastic Polar Express employee helps seat passengers at the start of the Polar Express Cabaret. Dances with Tent Conductor and Chef 2 in the Hot Chocolate dance and will tell large parts of the Polar Express story (as appears in the original book) verbatim.

Santa is a wise and magical Character who spreads Christmas spirit throughout the world. He lies at the core of the story. Santa is calm, patient and contemplative while imparting knowledge up those who truly believe. He greets passengers after the train ride and presents them with the Silver Bell.

About the project:
At the turn of the 20th century, two premier celebrities beard convention with a new act of defiance. As stars Eva Tanguay and Julian Eltinge straddle their on- and off-stage personas, their latest engagement satirizes gender, respectability, and marriage. Is it a publicity stunt or something more personal? Acclaimed local playwright Jeffrey Neuman infuses vaudeville song and show into a surprisingly timely story that explores the explosive crossroads of gender, fame, sexuality, and power.

Rate:
AEA and non-union contracts will be offered. Actors will be paid: AEA SA standard contract fees; non-union range $850–$1000

PERFORMANCE DATES: November 25-27, 2022
Auditions will be cold reads from the script. You may be asked to read for a variety of characters and with other actors.
REHEARSALS:
All rehearsals will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Broomfield, 350 Main St.
Adult rehearsals are Oct 17 through Nov 19, Monday through Thursday evenings, as well as Saturdays, 10 am-1 pm in November (Nov 5, 12, & 19). Tech rehearsals are Nov 21 -23. There will be no rehearsal on Thanksgiving Day.
Youth rehearsals are Nov 5, 12, 19, 10am - 1pm and Nov 21-23, 6-8pm. There will be no rehearsal on Thanksgiving Day.

A loud and boisterous spirit, who shows Scrooge how his friends and family are celebrating Christmas without him.
