Welcome AMERICA to the new music competition series AMERICAS EXTREME TALENT. A.E.T. begins with 30 extreme Talents.  A.E.T. is set out on a journey across the nation to discover a new crop of inspiring talent for the new Season in NEW YORK. Once the panel judges select the 30 hopefuls. America will have the chance to decide who is brought on to the show by voting TALENT that sings their own songs, their own lyrics, and their own style throughout the show. You can AUDITION ONLINE.

What to prepare:
Those auditioning are asked to prepare a 90 second cut of a musical theatre song that shows off their range and acting skills. An accompanist will be provided—NO A CAPPELLA auditions. There will also be a dance audition as well. Please come dressed accordingly- wear loose clothing and footwear you’re comfortable moving in- a character or jazz shoe is preferred.
Callbacks will be held on:
Thursday, October 6 at 6:15PM. Those asked to come back for callbacks will be asked to prepare music from the show as well as some readings.
Please note: all those auditioning must provide proof of vaccination at the time of registration. Shrek will be performed with a fully vaccinated cast, crew and orchestra.

The story's title character. A big, green, terrifying ogre who lives alone on a swamp. He embarks on a journey to rid his land of fairytale creatures and, along the way, falls in love with Fiona. Begins as a grumpy hermit, but reveals his layers and eventually becomes the hero.

The beautiful princess of Far Far Away, she transforms into an ogre every night when the sun sets. Rescued by Shrek and eventually falls in love with him. Quirky, blunt, and multitalented, she is not an ordinary princess.

Fiona

A talking donkey who joins Shrek on the run from Farquaad's guards.
Quite the chatterbox, he is not deterred by Shrek's looks and practically forces himself into his good graces. Easily frightened and pushy, but also an optimistic with heart.

Donkey

The comically short, ruthless ruler of Duloc. He is in search of a princes to marry so that he can become king. Has an intensely unfair bias against fairytale creatures that stems from a resentment of his father. Self-absorbed, lonely, and cruel.

Lord Farquaad

A dragon that has been charged with guarding Princess Fiona in her isolated castle. She eventually falls in love with Donkey and attempts to keep him there forever. Imposing and flirtatious, but tired of her job as the glorified babysitter.

Dragon

A gingerbread man initially kidnapped by Lord Farquaad. His wit and resolution help him both avoid trouble and inspire the rest of the fairytale creatures.

Singer/Dancers Sought For "Shrek" The Musical

Auditions For “A Little Night Music”. Seeking cast. Please see the breakdown below.

About the project: 
Successful, middle-aged lawyer Fredrik Egerman has recently married naïve, 18-year-old Anne in what turns out to be a terrible mismatch, while his son Henrik, just a little older than her, has secretly fallen in love with his new stepmother. When Fredrik and Anne visit the theatre, Fredrik is reunited with an old flame, the actress Desirée Armfeldt, and sparks fly – although Desirée herself is currently seeing a married dragoon, Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm, much to the misery of his wife Charlotte. When Desiree asks her mother to host a party for the Egermans at her lavish country estate, all the characters set off for a weekend in the country, each with their own amorous hopes, fears, and schemes. 
Inspired by the 1955 Ingmar Bergman film Smiles of a Summer Night, Stephen Sondheim’s masterpiece A Little Night Music opened on Broadway in 1973 and won 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Original Score.

Company pledges to continue to advocate for and are aiming to build a diverse cast reflective of the Schenectady community. Any and all ethnicities, BIPOC actors and actors of all gender identities are encouraged to audition for all roles.
What to prepare:
Please prepare 16 to 32 bars of music from a Broadway show – ideally in a style similar to the show or from the show itself.
An accompanist will be provided, so please have sheet music in the correct key.  
Readings from the script will be provided at auditions.
Please bring a calendar with all your conflicts to the audition as well.  
Rehearsals:
Rehearsals will be held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings, from 7-10PM, and on Sunday afternoons 2-5PM. This is subject to change based on cast/crew availability.
Rehearsals will begin on Sunday, October 23, 2022.
Attendance is mandatory for Tech Week (January 15-19, 2023) and all performances.
Commitment To COVID Safety: The health and safety of artists, staff, and audience members are first priority. All actors, staff and crew will be expected to follow guidelines including always wearing a mask while on the campus.  
*All actors, staff, and crew will need to show proof that they are fully vaccinated (including at least 1 booster) by the time rehearsal begins.*
Callbacks will be by invite only and will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 7:00 pm.
Performance dates: January 20-29, 2023
(Thursday, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8 pm, Sundays at 2 pm).

Lyric ingenue, giddy, naïve. Fredrik’s new bride. She is still a virgin after eleven months of marriage.

Fredrik’s son, slightly older than his stepmother Anne. He is serious but confused; he reads the works of philosophers and theologians whilst studying for the Lutheran priesthood. His sexual repression is a great cause of his turmoil. Cello experience a plus.

Additional information:
Matt and Louisa, directors will run through scales to hear your range and ability to sustain. Louisa preferably should have some dance background for Round and Round.
Rehearse Friday evenings (when you are called) and private sessions are provided.
The production is in May, they stop during Christmas and January. Start up again in February and stage in March. It's a slower process, but that's how they do it and gives you time to rehearse on your own, plus the regular weekly rehearsals.
