Performers wanted for the "Noises Off" play. Details below. About the project: A manic menagerie of itinerant actors rehearses a flop called Nothing's On. Slamming doors, on and offstage, intrigue, and an errant herring all figure in the plot of this hilarious, high-energy comedy. Chaotic slapstick and physical comedy reign as forgotten lines, misplaced props, and love triangles make it nearly impossible for the show to go on. Everything that can go wrong does, and with a rotating set showing the antics both onstage and backstage, there is nowhere to hide. Rate: Paid biweekly. Additional info: Noises Off is a physically demanding show. Actors considering auditioning should be in good physical shape. Hard-working, physical actors are needed who can commit to the upbeat, in-the-moment style of the play and fully inhabit the characters with an understanding of comedy. All races, ethnicities, and nationalities are welcome to audition for any role that interests them. Please provide a current headshot and resume. Prepare a 60-second (or less) comedic monologue and be prepared to do cold reads from the show. Location: Springboro, OH (all rehearsals and performances). Rehearsals: December 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, January 2, 3, 4 (9 AM – 6 PM). Tech: January 5-7. Performances: January 7 - February 7, Thursday-Sunday matinees and evenings.
