"Men Appreciated Here" Comedy-Drama

Six men. One backyard barbecue. Plenty of jokes—and truths nobody planned to tell. In Men Appreciated Here, retired fire captain Calvin “Big Cal” Brooks hosts a Father’s Day celebration with food, cards, and one rule: leave the feelings out of it. But between the trash talk and the ribs, secrets surface, pride cracks, and the men discover how much they’ve left unsaid. With three outspoken women challenging them to be honest, the gathering becomes a heartfelt look at fatherhood, friendship, grief, and the courage to ask for help. Written by Alice Y. Boswell, this comedy-drama celebrates the men who show up, the families who love them, and the healing that begins when someone finally feels seen.
