Mark Rothko takes on the largest commission in modern art and hires a young assistant who dares to ask what the work is meant to do. Content: Depression and mental anguish; a character recounts the violent death of his parents. Onstage smoking and drinking. Strong language. Physically demanding painting sequences with paint on skin and costume. Rate: CONTRACT Independent Theatre Contract $784 weekly minimum - 2026 rate Additional info: PREPARATION Please prepare one of the following: two 32-bar song cuts; two monologues, each under 1-minute; or one 32-bar cut and one monologue under 1-minute.
