Shooting Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina Details: Non-union, SAG Micro-Budget Agreement, paid, meals provided. Transportation and accommodation for non-local actors. Shooting Dates: November 5th-9th, 2026. Travel Days on October 3rd or 4th and 10th. LOGLINE: Will Buford, the adopted son of fifth-generation cattle farmers, must reckon with the family fallout of working at a cultivated meat start-up.

A Black man adopted by white parents and raised in rural North Carolina. After college, he returns home to pursue his passion: ending animal slaughter through the development of cultivated meat. Though well-intentioned, Will bends the rules in the name of progress and is forced to reckon with the consequences. ($100/day)
HANK (60s, white) A fifth-generation cattle farmer who believes in family, loyalty and football. He’s got an unyielding commitment to doing right by his herd and his community. Outspoken about his honest work, and what it means to be a Buford man. A father who can let his pride get in the way of connecting with his son. ($100/day)
DAVIS (30s) A skilled and knowledgeable, but playful scientist who believes in separating work from life. Committed to his job, but not motivated by the ethos of it. Earnest, goofy, and here for a good time. ($50/day)
MISSY (50s, white) A mother and wife caught between the men she loves most. Supportive, and nurturing, she’s the backbone and peacemaker on the farm. ($50/day)
LILA (40s) A woman juggling the slow process of science with the harsh demands of the investors who fund her company’s work. ($50/day)
