About the project: The film follows a sound recordist hired by a local museum as he traverses the rural Wisconsin terrain collecting ambient environmental recordings before being accompanied by a fellow colleague. Throughout the film the sound recordist gathers the fragments, voices, landscapes and people around him. As the film progresses, the boundaries between what is dreamed, remembered, and experienced begins to dissipate. At its center, the film is about listening, memory, and the impermanence of all that is around us — and how one tries to preserve what cannot be. The film is intentionally soft, slow, and intimate, often feeling driftless and void of a clear narrative, blending what may be reality and what may just be a dream. Rate: Non-paid. Compensation includes food, travel, and possibility of lodging depending on actor's location. All actors receive a copy of the film upon completion, as well as any material they see fit for reels/portfolios. Additional info: Shoot dates: October 11-12 & 24-25 Location: Various locations throughout Northeast Wisconsin, with key locations in Manitowoc and Calumet County. Non-union, independent production.
