"Into the Breeches" Audition for the Theater
Seeking performers for "Into the Breeches!" with the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Please find the breakdown below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Rate: LORT B: $1,213 weekly minimum. LORT D: $889 weekly minimum (for performers cast in both Two Noble Kinsmen and Into the Breeches!). Additional info: Contract Dates: May 3 – October 2, 2027, or June 7 – October 2, 2027 (dependent on casting). All roles will be understudied. Performers will appear in more than one show. Non-singers: prepare either a 1½-minute Shakespeare monologue (no sonnets) or a 1½-minute contemporary monologue. Singers: prepare a 1½-minute Shakespeare monologue (no sonnets) and 16 bars of a Broadway-style song showing range and vocal prowess. Equity membership card required. An Equity monitor will not be provided; the producer will run all aspects of the audition. If interested, please apply.

(Female-identifying). The talented, if untested, director. She discovers her values and her independence. Plays the Chorus.
(Female-identifying). The diva and ringleader of the group. She’s the glue that holds them all together. Plays Henry IV and Henry V.
(Male-identifying). The conservative Board president of the Oberon Play House and the husband of Winifred. He’s prickly on the outside, but is a doting husband to Winifred.
(Female-identifying). An inexperienced but enthusiastic actor. She’s a socialite who discovers her own wit and humor. Plays Falstaff.
(Male-identifying). The quip-ready stage manager who finally shows the world the best side of himself. Plays Mistress Quickly.
(Female-identifying). The imaginative costume designer whose vision pushes the show into a modern perspective in more ways than one. Plays Hotspur.
(Female-identifying). The ingenue, and full of curiosity and optimism. Plays the Kates.
(Female-identifying). A raw talent who finds the power to lead. Plays Henry IV and V.
