About the project: Sergio, a gifted young Latin-American soccer player, is struggling to survive while pursuing his dream of becoming a professional footballer. Living alone and unable to afford even basic necessities, he pushes his body through relentless training, believing football is his only path towards a better future. Under the demanding but supportive guidance of his coach, Jason, Sergio is pushed to confront his fear of failure and trust his instincts. When a professional scout arrives to watch him, a penalty kick becomes the defining moment of his life, forcing Sergio to overcome hunger, exhaustion, and pressure for the chance to change everything. Rate: Non union. It is a volunteer student project however, craft services and catering will be available. Additional information: Audition Location Self tapes only. Physically resilient but emotionally vulnerable, Sergio struggles to separate his instinct from the overwhelming pressure he places on every opportunity. He carries himself with the determination of someone who refuses to give up, yet beneath that strength is a constant fear that one failure could take everything away from him. .
A demanding but supportive coach who believes discipline and repetition can overcome almost any obstacle. Direct, pragmatic, and often uncompromising, Jason pushes his players because he genuinely believes in their potential, particularly Sergio’s. He understands the mechanics of the game and recognizes exactly what Sergio needs to do to succeed, but struggles to fully grasp the weight Sergio carries beyond the field.
