Leo is a 22-year-old house painter, ocean enthusiast, and Caribbean food enthusiast. After learning that cancer is leaving him only a couple of months to live, his adventurous instincts kick in, and he and his father buy the live-aboard sailboat they've always dreamed of. In this film, Leo grapples with his own mortality, masculinity, and learning how to ask for help when he needs it, even when he thinks he doesn’t.
Emil is a 55-year-old single father and owner of a commercial painting business. A first-generation immigrant, Emil comes from a long line of French fishermen. After learning that cancer is leaving his 22-year-old son Leo just a couple of months to live, Emil, like he always has, fiercely wants to protect and be there for his son.
