About the project: A dark, suspenseful short film about temptation, trust, and the horrifying consequences of what's inside. Open Up follows estranged couple Stella and Nick, who rent an expensive Airbnb for Stella's birthday. When a mysterious box arrives at a party with friends, supernatural nightmares begin to come to life, threatening Stella's grip on reality and their relationship. Rate: Paid. Competitive compensation for all roles. Additional info: Non-union independent short film. Shoot dates: October 21–24, 2026. Location: Melrose, FL. All actors must be available for the full four-day shoot. Meals provided on set each day. Open to all experience levels, role dependent. Lead Perceptive and emotionally guarded, maintaining a composed exterior despite the strain in her relationship. As increasingly disturbing events unravel her sense of reality, Stella is pushed from quiet unease into psychological terror. A demanding lead role requiring strong dramatic range and emotional vulnerability. Must be comfortable portraying grief, crying, panic, fear, and intense emotional scenes.
2nd Lead Avoidant, proud, and self-centered. His emotional immaturity is revealed as events unfold. Must be comfortable with shouting, crying, and intense emotional scenes.
Lead Supporting Nick's best friend. Chill, friendly, funny, and socially confident. Provides comedic relief.
Supporting Jake's girlfriend. Bubbly, flirtatious, and social. The "ideal girlfriend," creating tension in Stella and Nick's relationship.
Supporting Personable, fun, assertive, and careless. Comes from privilege and doesn't take life too seriously.
