About the project: Shakespeare's Macbeth is a tragedy exploring the corrosive nature of absolute power, the drive for legacy, and the consequences of unchecked ambition. Spurred by prophecy and their own desires, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth seize the throne through violence, setting Scotland on a path of fear, bloodshed, and tyranny. As their rule unravels, the people of Scotland rise up to reclaim their country. This production is set in medieval Scotland and draws on the universality of Shakespeare to reference the current political climate in America. Rate: Non-paid. Additional info: Callbacks by invitation: Wednesday, August 12, 7:00–10:00 PM. Callbacks will consist of sides from the script, provided when invitations are announced. Actors unable to attend in person may arrange a video submission by email. Prepare one classical monologue, approximately 1–2 minutes in length. Shakespeare strongly preferred. Walk-ups permitted as time allows. Actors must complete an audition form and submit a resume and headshot if available. Actors must note all conflicts throughout the rehearsal and performance period, August 16–November 15. Rehearsals typically held four times per week on weeknights and weekends, depending on cast availability. Tech and dress rehearsals begin October 17, 2026. Performances run 4 weekends, October 23–November 15. Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 PM; Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM. Brush-up rehearsals may be held Thursday evenings before Friday performances. Cast attendance required at all rehearsals as called, unless a conflict was previously indicated. Cast must be available for all tech, dress rehearsals, performances, and brush-ups.
