Casting Call for Upcoming Play
Performers wanted for the "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" play. See the breakdown below. Additional info: Call Backs (If Any): Sunday August 2nd, TBA Open auditions. Everyone is welcome. Audition consists of cold readings: bring resume, headshot, and any conflicts. Rehearsals and performances will be held at Makeshift Theater, 732 W. Exchange Street, Akron. Rehearsals start on August 17th. They will be Sunday-Thursday. Tech rehearsals on September 16-17 are mandatory. Play opens for two weekends from September 18th. If interested, please apply.

The adopted sister of Vanya and Masha. She is bitter about what life has thrown at her, jealous of her more glamorous sister, but sees a whole new world of possibilities through the play
Masha is a glamorous and successful actress desperately trying to hold onto her youth
As aspiring actor, he is the much younger lover of Masha. He is sexy and self-absorbed. Must appear on stage in underwear.
Is a lovely and sincere would-be actress visiting relatives nearby who is an admirer of Masha’s work and becomes fond of the entire family. She is more spirited than one thinks at first.
The occasional housekeeper – a gem of a role. She is acerbic, slightly psychic and more than slightly unhinged – or is she? This character switches from housekeeper to quoter of all manner of philosophers in a semi-trance-like state and even practices a bit of voodoo
