Seeking actors for an invited industry staged reading of a play "Code of Conduct". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please find the relevant details below for your review. About the project: Synopsis: When a feminist economics professor moves to fail a radical conservative student for his beliefs, he ignites a media firestorm that unravels their lives. Code of Conduct is a tragicomedy that asks if the American university has become the arena where debate goes to die. Rate: $100 for a 29-hour staged reading. Additional info: Rehearses Tuesday/Thursday 6-9pm starting July 7th in Midtown. NOTE: The role of Dr. Emily Lawson will be needed for a 2-3 hour film shoot on either July 15th or 16th for a video portion of the staged reading. Performance is Wednesday August 5th 2:30pm - 6:30pm. A working-class kid from a small Texas town who arrives at college an outsider and leaves a radical conservative media pundit. Strategic, vindictive and more dangerous than he looks. Experience with a southern accent preferred.

Female or female presenting. Emily’s wife and a child speech pathologist who leads with empathy and curiosity. Patient, strong-willed, and understanding. Selfless and supportive - a foil to Emily’s self-involvement.

Head of the Economics department. Dry, institutional, and well-rehearsed. A talking head for the university with extensive PR awareness. Plays all sides as it best serves himself and the university.
