Nick Carraway, a young newcomer to Long Island, is drawn into their world of obsession, greed and danger. The breathtaking glamour and decadent excess of the Jazz Age come to the stage in Simon Levy's epic adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel. This is America, the Jazz Age, a land of enchantment and illusions, a world where love and dreams are pursued and betrayed. Additional info: Performance dates: September 25, 26, October 2, 3, and 4. Location: MOVP Annex, located next door to the theater and upstairs at 227 Putnam St. This is not the musical adaptation. Dance experience is a plus but not a requirement. Ability to do a 1920s, New York or "Transatlantic" accent is a plus but not a requirement. For those auditioning for Daisy Buchanan: ability to do a "Southern Belle" accent is a plus but not a requirement; singing experience is a plus but not a requirement. The auditions will not involve any singing or dancing. The directing/production team will work with and teach those cast the dance sequences and accents.
