About the project: This project is a psychological thriller that touches on the topic of Schizophrenia and Dissociative Identity Disorder. Below is the synopsis of the project. The Session follows Niri, a man under investigation for his connection to a brutal killing. During a psychiatric session with Dr. Orms, fragmented memories, hallucinations, and violent visions begin to resurface, forcing him to confront a traumatic truth buried deep in his mind. By the end of the session, Niri leaves seemingly calm, but the bloody footprints behind him reveal that the darkness haunting him may be real after all. Rate: Non union. There will be no compensation for this project. Actors will be paid $10 a day to put towards their catering. This film will be submitted to festivals. A man misdiagnosed with schizophrenia, actually suffers from DID two distinct identities split from his trauma: his gentle, vulnerable self and an alter driven by anger and pain. Subtle clues like memory loss, disconnection, and a history of trauma are woven into the story for the audience to piece together, ultimately revealing that Niri's alter seemingly took over and killed an innocent person.
Represents the small part of Niri's personality that remains sane. She is professional, calm, and hopeful about helping Niri overcome his struggles. With years of experience, she finds his case unique and fascinating. Although she diagnoses him with schizophrenia, her extensive experience may lead her to underestimate his situation, missing the deeper truth behind his behavior.
Detective Fareth, a seasoned police officer aged 55 to 60, is known for his cunning, wit, and impatience. His unique interrogation methods allow him to extract information effectively, often manipulating fearful suspects. His harsh demeanor reflects his extensive experience, as he believes that pressure leads to quicker, more reliable information than a gentler approach.
The suspect is an unknown man taken into custody by a detective under false pretenses, appearing terrified and eager to leave. His fear reflects Niri's innocent perspective, who is also fearful of the detective, not due to a threat of uncovering the truth, but because of the potential danger to himself. Ultimately, the detective is revealed as calm and gentle, contrasting Niri's initial perceptions.
The father of Niri was a narrow-minded individual, holding onto an outdated and regressive perspective of the world. He served as a commander during World War II but lost all his honor and respect in its aftermath. Suffering from a military mindset and PTSD, he became violent, unpredictable, and filled with anger, directing all his frustrations and perceived injustices toward his innocent son.
