"Ride the Cyclone" Musical Needs Performers
Theatre is thrilled to announce auditions for first Concert Series* show - "Ride the Cyclone", a wildly imaginative and darkly comedic cult musical about life, loss, and the meaning of it all. Seeking cast. See more info below. About the project: *A concert series in musical refers to a succession of semi-staged, concert-format presentation of the musical. "Ride the Cyclone is a darkly comedic, high-energy musical about six teenagers from the St. Cassian Chamber Choir whose lives are cut tragically short in a freak roller coaster accident. In a mysterious limbo, a mechanical fortune teller named Karnak offers them one final chance: one of them will be brought back to life, but they must prove why they deserve it most. Through outrageous musical numbers spanning genres from pop and jazz to rap and operetta, each teen tells their story by revealing their hopes, insecurities, dreams, and unfinished business. The result is a hilarious, heartfelt, and surprisingly profound exploration of identity, legacy, and what makes a life meaningful." Additional info: Audition requirements: Please prepare 16 bars (30 to 60 seconds) of a song in the style of the show that showcases your vocal range and personality. You may be asked to perform a song from the show. Rehearsals will begin around July 27. The rehearsal will depend on who is cast. No Conflicts after August 17. Seeking a diverse group of strong performers and vocalists. While the character descriptions state most of the characters appear to be teenagers, directors are blind casting this show. All ethnicities, gender identities, ages, and body types are encouraged to audition. All roles are open. While characters in the script are traditionally written and referred to using male or female pronouns (he/him or she/her), they warmly welcome performers of all gender identities.
