8 roles
Tenor Solo In a sea of muppets, Walter is the only human, so to speak. He sings sincerely, with a fatherly warmth. When he enters Heisenberg Mode, however, he becomes jazzy and electric.
High Tenor Solo and Chorus The vision for Jesse is “hammy” musical theater lead, who brings intensity to both the cartoonish elements, and the dramatic rock and roll sections.
Soprano Chorus member Skyler is an important part of the harmonic bedrock for the chorus, but also has comedic highlights where we ideally are looking for someone with the vocal affectations of a crow.
Baritone Soloist and Chorus For Hank, looking for sleaze and swagger, a vainglorious dirty cop who thinks he's the king of the world. Mike is more deadpan, gruff, grounded and gravelly.
Alto Solo and Chorus This version of Gus will be inspired by Eartha Kitt, evil and theatrical, so diirectors are looking for a singer who can perform in similar voice--think Yzma.
Alto Chorus member Marie/Gus is an alto. She mainly fills out the chorus, and brings an eclectic, purple element to the production.
Baritone Soloist and Chorus Walt Jr/Saul is a baritone mainly filling out the chorus, with a few solo parts. Walt Jr. sings like he's on MTV and is an exaggeration of the irreverent cool teenager, frequently insulting his father. Saul on the other hand has his own solo number, and luxuriates in his showmanship.
Additionally looking for one more Soprano to fill out the chorus as Francesca and various other supporting roles.
