About the play: Synopsis: A witty, warm-hearted comedy rooted in true events, Harvest follows an aging farm couple whose quiet rural retirement takes an unexpected—and hilariously chaotic—turn. When Allan and Charlotte rent out their family farm in hopes of simplifying their lives, they imagine peaceful days and predictable routines. Instead, they discover their new tenant has transformed the property into a full-scale marijuana grow-op. Suddenly thrust into a world of police visits, community gossip, and the questionable life choices of others, the couple must navigate the absurdity with resilience, humour, and a surprising amount of teamwork. Blending sharp comedy with genuine affection for its characters, Harvest is a charming story about love, legacy, and the unpredictable messiness of letting go of the life you’ve always known. Funny, heartfelt, and unmistakably Canadian, it’s a theatrical celebration of ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances.
