Description:

ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking performers for "The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley" play. See the details below. About the play: In this delightful companion play to Miss Bennet, authors Gunderson and Melcon once again bring Jane Austen’s beloved characters to the stage for a yuletide sequel to Pride and Prejudice. While Miss Bennet depicted the newly wed Darcys’ Christmas gathering on the ground floor of Pemberley, The Wickhams takes audiences to the downstairs servants’ quarters for that same celebration. Mrs. Reynolds, a no-nonsense housekeeper; Cassie, an eager new maid; and Brian, a lovesick footman, are bustling with preparations for holiday guests. But their work is interrupted by the midnight arrival of the definitely not invited Mr. Wickham – Lydia’s rogue of a husband and Mr. Darcy’s sworn enemy. The Wickhams is a charming holiday tale that explores the confines of class and the generosity of forgiveness. Additional information: The deadline to register is June 5th. Monologues and Sides will not be released prior to the auditions but they may be able to share the script for those who wish to read it in advance. CALL BACKS, ONLY IF NECESSARY: Wednesday June 10, 2026 6:45 to 9:15. Audition Location: Ontario. Rehearsals will be held on Tues. Sept. 1st. Rehearsals will run Tues-Thurs-Sun evenings from 6:30-9:30 pm. There will be one read through in each of June, July, and August that will be scheduled around cast availability. Performance dates are November 20-22 (matinee on the 22nd) and November 27-29 (matinee on the 29th). Audition Format: Everyone should be prepared to stay for the full time. Please arrive about 15 minutes early so that you have time to fill out the audition form. All readings will be done “cold” though there will be some opportunity to work with the monologues (individually) and with the sides (in groups) before being asked to read for the production panel. Each person will be asked to read their chosen monologue twice: once as they prefer and once with a direction from the production panel. All people auditioning will be given the opportunity to read several scenes. Wear comfortable clothing as you will be asked to move! Be prepared to try a British accent, if able. When applying, please submit the date you would like to audition so that they can prepare a roster ahead of time.
