3 shoot days Jay's dad, Danny is the kind of man who's time in the Vietnam war has left him angry and aloof. He's a hard man, struggling to provide, and he takes out his frustrations on his family. He yells, he punishes, but in his own twisted way, he probably thinks he's doing what's best for Jay. Life didn't give him many breaks, and he's passing that tough reality down to his son, whether Jay likes it or not.
3 shoot days Makes the best of what she's got, Helen is the glue barely holding the Cook family together. Treats Bee like her own. Turns a blind eye to a lot of what goes on, whether out of exhaustion or quiet survival, but you can tell she loves her kids and husband. She's the warmth in Jay's world, even if he doesn't always appreciate it.
5 shoot days Tough, no bullshit teenager. Cousin of Bee and treats him like an annoying gnat. Cooler than him so she needs to keep him at a distance. A small town highschooler initially mesmerized by the local rap celebrity, Tre Wyld. Cleans up well for church and family events, but her mother doesn't know who she really is.
10 shoot days Jay's hot-head older half-brother who still lives at home. Unconscious of how much of a mama's boy he actually is. Wears heavy metal jean jackets, cut-off shorts and motorcycle boots. He's rough and loves to scare his step-brother Jay, but ultimately is loyal to him. Into hunting, biking, beer, weed, and his girlfriend. Must be comfortable with kissing scenes with a female. There will be an intimacy coordinator present. Virginia Southern accent a plus.
10 shoot days A thrill-seeking copilot. Fun, loves a party and really loves to party. These are her glory days. Diana is hot and she knows it. A "biker chick" without the bike. She's the perfect counterpart to Tracy. Very aware of her effect on Jay and other boys. An exhibitionist, and likes to tease. Might even be called highly sexual. It's all performative. Must be comfortable with kissing scenes with a male. There will be an intimacy coordinator present.
