About the project: "Erlqueen" is a period horror short inspired by early cinema and folk horror. We’re looking for actors who are comfortable with both subtlety and the physicality that comes with horror. More than anything, we’d love to find actors who are as excited about the project as we are! If this sounds like you, please reach out to Rate: Paid (Flat rate, meals provided). Non-Union. Lead. Alice is a young, aspiring actress who's been cast in her first silent film. She's determined, naive, and eager to please. Near the end of the film, she undergoes an intense transformation that turns her from a vulnerable character into one with much more control and presence. This is the role with the most emotional range and physicality. The actor must be comfortable wearing horror makeup/prosthetic.
Supporting. Dorothy is an experienced actress who helps Alice throughout the film. She is jealous and manipulative, but presents herself as kind and encouraging.
Supporting/Antagonist. Henry is the director of the crew and the main antagonist of the film. He's kind to Alice, but subtly manipulates her throughout the film. He is more than willing to exploit her naivety to ensure his film is perfect.
Minor Roles. James and Robert are the camera operator and makeup artist on the crew. They are loyal, quiet, and efficient. These roles have very few lines of dialogue, but are still integral to the film.
