Theater Casting Call for "The Bunker" Play
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking a performer for production of "The Bunker". Please, see the details below. About the play: Even though Montrealers of French and Italian origin share the same city, they don’t necessarily have a direct impact on each other’s lives. Yes, they are neighbors, but do they really know each other? Do they see each other? Do they have similar lifestyles? Similar behavior patterns? Similar dreams? Do they like each other? The Bunker, a comedy originally written in Italian (Sotto Vuoto) by Leo Sama in 2003, which was staged in 2004 at the Leonardo da Vinci Centre, tries to answer these questions in a funny, passionate and insightful way. It was in fact a bilingual play, since French was an integral part of the script. The Bunker explores the headaches related to interracial relationships, integration and immigration. It’s the story of two families, the French-speaking Lebeaus and the Italian speaking Moschettas, who find themselves living together in a nuclear bomb shelter, where the somewhat forced rapprochement enables them to really get to know each other. How much will they get to know about each other? Will they like each other by the time the underground adventure is over? Well... Rate: The remuneration for the part is $ 1,000.00. Additional information: It will be staged early November 2026. Rehearsals begin late August 2026. When applying, please submit BIO and head shot.
