Casting a Charismatic on Camera Host for Upcoming Show
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. A small local entertainment news outlet is looking for a comfortable and charismatic on camera host for upcoming show. Please, see the details below. Rate: Non union. Funding for this project is currently pending, directors have budgeted the role to be paid about $100 per interview (usually an hour or less). Additional information: They focus primarily on interviewing musicians and bands at concerts around Vancouver. This is a passion project run by a group of journalists from diverse backgrounds. Directors work at various outlets, including CBC, SportsNet, and Canadian Geographic. The primary product is short-form video interviews with musicians at venues and rehearsal spaces. Until now, journalists at FTR have conducted the interviews, but they are now growing the team and have made the decision to bring on one or two new team members to act as hosts/interviewers on the project going forward. The focus is on making interviews entertaining and enjoyable (therefore, no journalistic experience is necessary). To them, that means that the host should be a character in their own right. Directors see this character as being a blank canvas, and ideally, they would like to work with an actor to build a personality that can represent the outlet. For the actor, this means creative freedom, regular exposure to a passionate and steadily growing audience, and the opportunity to work with a talented team of editors, camera operators, and writers in a unique and constantly changing environment. They expect the role to be fully paid, although funding is still pending. Other benefits include free concerts and the opportunity to network with successful musicians. This position has been assigned to the next ten episodes of the series, but there are likely to be more episodes beyond those ten. The audition process will be a short, staged interview in which you act as the interviewer on camera opposite a local musician. Background information on the musician in question will be provided ahead of the audition. If you're interested, please apply.
1 role
Open to interpretation, ideally an overwhelmingly confident person who can handle a wide variety of social situations with ease. Cool and alternative energy that matches the guests they have on the show (directors are very much open to other suggestions so if you have a strong idea of a way you would like to take the role they're ready to listen and work with you to see if your take would be a good fit for the show).
