About the project: Journey with Ariel, a young mermaid longing to explore the human world, as she defies her father, King Triton, to follow her dreams. Alongside her beloved friends Flounder, Sebastian, and Scuttle, Ariel must face the cunning sea witch Ursula and make the ultimate choice between love and freedom. Filled with unforgettable songs like Part of Your World, Under the Sea, and Kiss the Girl, this enchanting musical is perfect for the whole family. With stunning costumes, captivating choreography, and dazzling sets, this production brings the underwater magic of Disney to life like never before. Don’t miss this timeless tale of courage, love, and self-discovery! Rate: unpaid. Additional info: PREPARE: - 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. No contemporary musical songs please. You must bring the sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. Music from The Little Mermaid is permitted and that sheet music will be available at the audition. - Cold readings may be given at the time of auditions. - Photo/headshot - Resume Callbacks by invitation, if needed. Rehearsals will begin the first week of April. Will rehearse approximately 3 times a week (2 weeknights and 1 weekend). Directors will begin with the large group ensemble numbers in April. In May, they will focus on scene work and small group numbers, with some ensemble review days mixed in. Directors will rehearse more frequently during the months of June and July and attendance will be crucial. A monarch who has NO interest in claiming his crown. A handsome lad with an adventurous nature. After a mysterious stranger saves his life, he becomes obsessed with finding her and hearing her voice once more. Vocal range: B2-G4.
A crab and advisor to King Triton. A musical virtuoso who is constantly distraught from keeping after Ariel. Despite his paranoia, he can’t bring himself to stand in Ariel’s way. Vocal range: Bb2-C5.
The banished Sea Witch and sister of King Triton. (Supposedly) spurned at childhood, she will use whatever method necessary to steal the kingdom and claim it as her own. Malevolent, calculating and deceptive. Vocal range: Eb3-C5.
King of the Sea and Ariel’s father. Beneath his imposing presence and commanding nature lurks a single father who will do anything to protect his daughters. The death of his wife has given him an irrational fear of humans. Vocal range: Ab2-F4.
A disheveled seagull and “expert” in human artifacts. Loudmouthed, optimistic, and a bit ignorant despite his supposed expertise. Vocal range: C3-G4.
These girls are sisters by blood and bond. Being raised in the public eye, these women are always ready to present their best selves to a crowd…and maybe compete for the spotlight. Actors will also portray the 6 princesses competing for Prince Eric’s hand in marriage. Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista and Andrina.
The french palace chef is diabolical and violent- a culinary perfectionist with a strong affinity for blades and seafood. Vocal range: Bb2-A4.
Prince Eric’s British guardian. Droll, stuffy and constantly urging Eric towards his royal duties, specifically marriage. Vocal range: C3-C4.
Captain of a fishing vessel who runs a tight ship.
Ship Crew, Sea Creatures, Gulls (must have tap experience), Castle maids and Castle Cooks.
Royal Heralds who announce King Triton and his court.
