Acting Job in "Ukrainian, But Not Ukraine" Series
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Looking for three actors for the Toronto-based indie episodic series, "Ukrainian, But Not Ukraine". Please, see the details below. About the project: Across three brief auto-biographical episodes, Alex searches for home and self-understanding through the stories, memories, and silences of their family rooted in Ukraine. Though those relationships carry fracture and distance, Alex holds onto the belief that re-connection across generations may offer a path toward wholeness. Rate: This is a non-union, volunteer role. Compensation will include credits and a profit-share of tickets sold from the episodes’ planned screening. All dialogue is in English. Additional information: Shooting Period: March 28th and 29th, with a possible third day scheduled for lead actor. GTA-based shoot: near Bathurst & St. Clair West. Ukrainian-Canadian, Queer (Male-presenting). A nervous people-pleaser, conflicted about many parts of their life and identity.
(Supporting): Alex’s mother. Ukrainian-Canadian. Family-oriented, stoic and stern, yet soft-hearted.
(Supporting): Alex’s grandfather. Heavy Ukrainian accent. He is the family patriarch, blunt and old-fashioned, while showing love through practicality and valuing his Ukrainian roots.
