A miserly banker. Selfish and cold-hearted at the start, but the ice around his heart cracks as the night progresses.
The Narrator is a compelling storyteller and omniscient presence. Marley is Scrooge’s late business partner who has been tasked with Scrooge’s redemption in order to fulfil his own.
Scrooge’s ill-treated employee. Around Scrooge, he is shy and nervous, but elsewhere he is effusive, warm, and caring. Nothing is more important to him than his family.
Nephew to Scrooge, husband to Victoria. The son of Scrooge’s late sister, Fan. What Fred lacks in money, he makes up for in good cheer. Has a complicated relationship with his Uncle based on their differing worldviews. Ebenezer is Scrooge’s younger self. Lighter than his present-day self, but conflicted.
Charity Gentleman is a generous citizen trying to raise money to spread Christmas cheer to the less fortunate.
Scrooge’s joyful first employer. A rare figure who treats all of his employees well and is known for his annual Christmas party. Beloved by all.
A boisterous and lively spirit who celebrates the present moment.
Ebenezer’s greedy and ambitious coworker who seduces him with promises of wealth.
To play a teenager. The eldest Cratchit son. Eager to help his parents.
A spritely figure who appears both youthful and ancient.
Employed by Scrooge. Has no reservations about stripping his house of everything worth selling after he’s dead.
Sister to Scrooge. Optimistic, caring, and warm despite the difficulties of their home life. Loves her brother deeply.
The eldest Cratchit child. Recently began working to help support her family.
Wife to Bob Cratchit. An exhausted but endlessly loving mother. Has a stronger backbone than her husband and isn’t afraid to stand up to Scrooge.
Wife to Fezziwig. Charming hostess of the annual Christmas party.
An intelligent, strong-willed, and principled young woman who falls in love with Ebenezer.
Wife to Fred. She delights in poking fun at her husband’s uncle. Piano proficiency preferred.
