"Disillusionment" - Actors Needed for Short Narrative Film
Casting call for "Disillusionment" student film. Looking for cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the roles below. About the project: After awakening in a world governed by illogical rules and an arbitrary point system, an unnamed lead character must find a way to survive her new world before losing either herself or the game. Darkly absurd, unsettling, and visually stylized, the film blends psychological horror, social satire, and existential drama into narrative that unpacks the morality and identity crisis associated with ideological radicalization. Speaking. Principal Supporting. A disquieting motherly and authoritative figure with an ulterior motive: to sort those who are a danger to the current status quo from those who are harmless.
Speaking. Principal Supporting. Cashier is another ordinary citizen in this strange world much like Person (the main character) but has already completed the journey that she is on. He knows that his survival is dependent upon his ability to play his role to perfection and that includes never showing his true fear and uncertainty. He delivers an important call to adventure and a warning about the perils that lay ahead.
Speaking. Supporting. Sweet, pleasant, and unnervingly composed. Robotic like demeanor, she's just another compliant cog in the machine of society.
Speaking. Principal Supporting. Lead Gentleman leads a support/recovery group for those who are or were disillusioned from society. The epitome of middle management, he performs the bidding of those at the top by quietly orchestrating the development of beliefs and actions of those he guides.
Speaking. Supporting. A lady who is very social, gossipy, and judgmental of others. She values a good social hierarchy and where she is on it. She judges harshly actions that would lower ones status or indicates that one is below her.
Speaking. Supporting. An otherwise ordinary lady looking for a husband with a massive crush on Brown Hair Gentleman.
Speaking. Supporting. The poster child of what recovery looks like, Brown Hair gentleman is fully radicalized and indoctrinated into far-right ideology. A major rule follower, he seeks the approval of Lead Gentleman and quietly reciprocates the crush of Lady Gossip.
Non-speaking. Featured supporting. Another member of the recovery group who remains semi disengaged and nonchalant about the whole situation. While fully indoctrinated into the group, he's not an active participant either. Has the attitude of laidback employee attending a required meeting only excited about free donuts.
Speaking. Principal Supporting. The nondescript unidentifiable voice of god that deducts and rewards points to those engaging in society. Voice over only.
Non-speaking. Featured Extra. The lead soldier of the wolves/Police-state actors. Must own a black suit.
Speaking. Featured Extra. A student in the classroom that hushes the main character for interrupting the lesson.
