Present Day. Playing 38. South Asian (Indian). A single father with frantic energy and a heart of gold. He loves to cook, though the results are often burnt or disastrous. He is sentimental, slightly dramatic, and deeply protective of his daughter. He hides his pain behind humor and culinary metaphors. Special Note: Must have excellent comedic timing and ability to portray deep vulnerability.
SUPPORTING/GUEST-STAR ROLE. South Asian/Middle Eastern. An artist with a warm smile and a gentle spirit. She is creative but ultimately desires stability and peace, which clashes with Arjun's chaotic life. She is the "first love" who got away.
SUPPORTING/GUEST-STAR ROLE. East Asian (Chinese-Canadian). A sharp, articulate attorney. She is highly organized, loves schedules, and believes efficiency equals love. She tries to "fix" Arjun's chaotic life through labeling and structure. Intense but well-meaning.
SUPPORTING/GUEST-STAR ROLE. A "cool girl" who works in a food truck. She is low-drama, fun, and easygoing, but emotionally unavailable. She avoids clinginess and believes if things get hard, they aren't meant to be.
SUPPORTING/GUEST-STAR ROLE. South Asian. Simi’s mother. Warm, observant, and a competent cook (unlike Arjun). She provides the quiet, maternal stability that Mira craves. A comforting presence.
