About the project: Synopsis: A re-imagining of the story of The Odyssey from the point of view of a character often relegated to the margins of the story: Odysseus’ wife Penelope, who waited for him for years as he fought to return home to Ithaca from Troy. Penelope is a genre-bending one woman piece, full of stories and songs accompanied by a live band that doubles as a Greek chorus. Grab a drink, settle in, and experience a story of mythic proportions. Rate: LORT Non-Rep. $1453 weekly minimum (LORT A) $1213 weekly minimum (LORT B) $901 weekly minimum (LORT D) Additional info: Audition lunch: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM. Some roles will be understudied. PREPARATION: For non-musical auditions: Please prepare 1 Classic and 1 Contemporary Monologue. For musical auditions: Please prepare a brief cut of a song and 1 Classic or Contemporary Monologue. Audition material should not exceed 3 minutes total. Please bring sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided. Also, please bring your current headshot and resume.
