About the project: "The Quiet of May" follows May, a single mother of two who works multiple jobs to support her family. Each day, she struggles to balance motherhood, financial stress, and exhaustion while trying to stay present for her daughters. Her routine is relentless, early mornings, long workdays cleaning houses, and night shifts as a nurse, leaving her physically and emotionally drained. When her youngest daughter is injured at school and hospitalized, May’s already fragile stability begins to collapse. The film is a grounded, realistic look at working-class motherhood, systemic pressure, and how love alone is sometimes not enough to protect those who are constantly giving.
