Actors Needed for Upcoming Stage Play "Fools"
Auditions for play "Fools". Looking for men & women. Please see the details below. About the project: Fools is a comic fable set in the small village of Kulyenchikov, Ukraine, during the late 19th century. The story follows Leon Steponovich Tolchinsky, a young schoolteacher who takes a new job educating Sophia, the daughter of Dr. Zubritsky and his wife, Lenya. Leon soon learns that there is a curse on the village. When he arrives, he finds people sweeping dust from the stoops back into their houses and people milking upside down to get more cream. The town has been cursed with chronic stupidity for two hundred years. Leon must educate Sophia in 24 hours to break the curse before he, too, falls victim to it – falling in love with her in the process and battling her suitor, Count Gregor, all while breaking the fourth wall and interacting with the audience. The play is known for its slapstick, commedia dell’arte style and its theme that love can overcome ignorance. Rate: Unpaid. Additional info: The lobby opens at 6:00 p.m. for registration.
